I absolutely adore a good book. One that is so smoothly executed, so well arranged that as I read it I honestly forget that reading is what I am doing. The words disappear, the pages melt away and I exist in the world created by the author. Whether I am a player in the story or just a fly on the wall, it is real. Time begins to slow and mesh until it seems that time passes as it does for the characters fleshed out by nothing more than ink on paper. What may seem like hours, days, weeks or more, in the real world is nothing but scant minutes or hours.
This amazing transportation to other realms, other places and times, is something that I wish I could share with more people. I want them to experience the wonder that I do when engrossed completely in a good book. My mind crashes to a halt every time I hear another person tell me they hate reading. People, who feel the thought of picking up a book for nothing more than pleasure is abhorrent, boggle my mind.
If you haven't read a good book lately, take some time, turn off the t.v. and relax with one. Perhaps you could just keep one in the bathroom, or read a few pages before bed. If you don't read for pleasure, give it a try, its not like it was in high school, there will be no pop quiz on places ,events or ,people. It may even be that little bit of stress relief you need from the mundane world.
For those who do read, feel free to suggest some to me, I am always looking for new books to feed my insatiable literary appetite.

Beautifully written and I agree 100%. I wish I would make more time to read more often. I say "make more time" as opposed to "had more time" because you are correct in suggesting that even small amounts of time are better than none. Such as in the bathtub or while cooking a dinner and waiting for something boil, etc. It is, however, sometimes hard to put a good book down once you've started it because you do get caught up in the storyline, but that's the pleasure in it in the first place! Thank you for sharing!
